Book Scholarships Information
Book Scholarship Criteria
1. Essay Topic
-Applicants must write a 750-word essay addressing the importance of higher education and how receiving a book scholarship will contribute to their academic success and future goals.
2. Community Service Hours
– Applicants must demonstrate a minimum of 20 hours of community service completed within the past year. This can include volunteering at local organizations, participating in community clean-up projects, or assisting with school events.
3. Financial Need Statement
– Applicants should provide a brief statement explaining their financial circumstances and how receiving the book scholarship would alleviate the financial burden of purchasing textbooks.
4. Teacher Recommendation
– Each applicant must submit a recommendation letter from a teacher or school counselor who can attest to their character, academic performance, and suitability for the scholarship. The letter should also highlight the applicant’s dedication to their studies and involvement in extracurricular activities.
5. Minimum GPA Requirement
– Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher to demonstrate their commitment to academic excellence and eligibility for the scholarship.
6. Full-Time Enrollment
– Recipients must be enrolled as full-time students in an accredited postsecondary institution during the Fall and Spring semesters to receive the book scholarship.

- Applicants must submit a recommendation letter from a teacher or school counselor who can attest to their character, academic performance, and suitability for the scholarship. The letter should also highlight the applicant’s dedication to their studies and involvement in extracurricular activities.

- Applicants are required to submit an official or unofficial transcript from your current educational institution. This will help us to verify that all information provided to us is accurate, and that you meet all of the eligibility requirements.
- Applicants are required to submit current proof of enrollment – Verification letter or letter of acceptance from a college, or course registration for the coming semester.
- Applicants are required to submit a photo ID – We will require a copy of your U.S. driver’s license, U.S. state ID card, or passport. These are the only acceptable forms of identification to submit.
- Recipients must maintain a 3.0 or higher GPA each semester in order to continue receiving the book scholarship.
- Applicants must complete and submit all requirements pertaining to the scholarship. Failure to do so will deem the applicant’s application incomplete, thus disqualifying the applicant.
- Applicants must be a high school senior on track to graduate or a college student enrolled in an accredited four-year university/college, or currently enrolled in a two-year college and planning to transfer to a four-year university/college upon completion.
- Applicants have earned, or will earn your high school diploma this calendar year.
- Applicants must have a minimum gpa of 3.0
- Applicants must complete and submit all requirements pertaining to the scholarship. Failure to do so will deem the applicant’s application incomplete, thus disqualifying the applicant.
Two book scholarships in the amount of $500 each are awarded each academic year to students
